Elevator Services for Properties in Calverton, NY
We provide expert elevator support to residential buildings, commercial properties, and government facilities across Calverton and surrounding areas.
Calverton’s name comes from Bernard J. Calvert, who opened the area’s post office in the mid-1800s. Before then, it was known by the Native American name “Conungum,” meaning “the fixed line.” The community remained a quiet farming hamlet specializing in cranberries that thrived in the swampy banks of the Peconic River.
The area's landscape changed significantly with the presence of the U.S. Navy and Grumman Aerospace. After Northrop acquired Grumman and exited the area in the 1990s, much of the land was repurposed. The site now holds the Calverton National Cemetery — the largest and busiest national cemetery in the United States in terms of daily burials.
Today, Calverton continues to evolve with a mix of residential growth, industrial space, and preserved natural land. Island Elevator is proud to support that evolution with dependable elevator services that keep buildings safe, functional, and code-compliant.
